The vivid crimson flowers of Peony 'Kansas' are borne on exceptionally strong stems. The show is glorious in the garden or in a vase. Kansas is an exceptional peony, winner of the prestigious APS Gold Medal. Once established, the plants form 3 foot mounds that grace the garden with lush foliage over a long season, and in May and June, put on a lavish bloom display. Fully double maroon red flowers are enormous, a full 5 to 7 inches across. Blooms are plentiful, loaded with old fashioned charm, and excellent as cut flowers.
We ship prime 2 to 3 eye divisions that will establish themselves in your garden over several seasons and then last for many years, a nearly permanent landscape asset.
Herbaceous Peonies grow best with a minimum of 6 hours of sun. Southern gardeners should provide afternoon shade.
