The Ivanetti is a quintessential ball dahlia, prized by growers and designers alike for its impeccable form and rich, jewel-toned coloring. It is widely considered a "workhorse" variety because of its heavy bloom production and exceptional durability.

Appearance & Form

Bloom Type: Ball.

Color Profile: A deep, saturated burgundy-plum. The petals are tightly rolled (involute) and arranged in a perfect honeycomb pattern, which creates a sophisticated, architectural look.

Bloom Size: Compact and uniform, usually measuring 3 to 3.5 inches in diameter.

Growth Habit

Height: Typically grows to about 3 to 4 feet tall. Its bushy habit makes it a great mid-border plant.

Stems: Exceptional stem quality. The stems are dark, wiry, and very strong, easily supporting the weight of the dense blooms without drooping.

Seasonality: A prolific bloomer that starts early and continues vigorously until the first hard frost.

Highlights for Growers

Vase Life: Outstanding. Thanks to its ball-shaped structure and firm petals, it is one of the longest-lasting dahlias in a vase, often holding its shape for 5–7 days.

Design Utility: The deep wine color acts as a perfect "anchor" in arrangements. It pairs beautifully with soft peaches, dusty roses, or vibrant oranges.

Tuber Production: Known for being an excellent tuber producer, yielding clumps that are easy to divide and store.

Planting Essentials

Sunlight: Full sun (6+ hours).

Soil: Rich, well-draining soil.

Pinching: For the best results, "pinch" the center lead when the plant is about 12 inches tall to encourage more lateral branching and a higher bloom count.

Spacing: Plant tubers approximately 12 to 18 inches apart to allow for proper airflow and growth.

You'll receive 1 tuber or clump ready to plant.
