Forget everything you know about common garden petunias. Our Italian Grandiflora ‘White Blush’ is part of a revolutionary breed from Italy, specifically designed for high-end floral design. These aren't your typical mounding bedding plants; they are vigorous, upright growers that produce long, sturdy stems and massive, ethereal blooms.
Why 'White Blush' is Extraordinary:
- The "Blush" Glow: These large, ruffled blooms open in a crisp, pure white with a delicate, romantic hint of shell-pink or "blush" at the throat and veins.
- Bred for Cutting: Unlike standard varieties, these Italian petunias can reach heights of 24–30 inches when spaced closely, providing professional-grade stems for bouquets.
- Intoxicating Scent: These blooms carry a sweet, spicy fragrance that becomes especially potent in the evening air.
- Exceptional Vase Life: While most petunias wilt quickly once cut, this Italian series is bred for durability, lasting up to a week in a vase.
The Advantage of Our Starter Plugs
Our plugs give you a massive head start on the growing season.
- Professional Roots: High-quality root systems mean less transplant shock and faster growth.
- Cost-Effective: Achieve a "flower farm" look without the high cost of individual nursery pots.
- Ready to Run: These plugs are at the perfect stage to be "bumped up" into larger pots or planted directly into prepared garden beds once the threat of frost has passed.
Quick Grow Guide
- Type: Tender Perennial (Grown as an Annual in Zone 5b).
- Sun: Full Sun (at least 6+ hours).
- Bloom Time: Early Summer through Frost.
- Spacing: 6–8" for long cutting stems; 12" for a lush, mounded garden look.
- Special Care: These are "heavy feeders." Use a balanced fertilizer every 2 weeks to keep the large Grandiflora blooms coming all season long.
Farmer’s Tip: To get those ultra-long stems for floral arrangements, provide a layer of horizontal netting or "corral" them with twine to keep the heavy, bloom-laden stems growing straight toward the sun.
